Antarctic and Southern Ocean Science Conference to be held in Hobart in June 2013

The Australian Antarctic Division and Antarctica New Zealand will be holding the first joint Antarctic science conference in Hobart from 24-26 June 2013.

Post-conference workshops will be held on 27 and 28 June.

Titled 'Strategic Science in Antarctica', the conference will focus on current research occurring on the icy continent and in the Southern Ocean.

Featuring a number of key note speakers, science talks, poster displays, and post- conference workshops, the conference will give researchers the opportunity to collaborate and share their research.

Talks or workshops on policy, Antarctic operational planning, how to apply to do science in Antarctica and science communications are also planned.
